CHEC Releases 2019 Annual Report

November 6, 2020

November 6, 2020 Barrie, ON – Cornerstone Hydro Electric Concepts (CHEC) is pleased to announce the release of its Annual Report for 2019. We are proud to highlight the support and resources that the association delivered during a year that saw two new members join the association for a total of 18 Ontario local distribution companies.

Last year was a year of significant change within the electrical distribution industry, though perhaps not quite as drastic of 2020. CHEC supports for its members included comprehensive resources and guidance during the Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) wind-down, the delivery of 27 different training courses, and the tendering of three group RFPs.

“[The CDM wind down] was a fast and intensive process. CHEC was there with our members every step of the way to lead and provide the necessary guidance to navigate a complicated, ever changing situation,” said John Walsh, Chair of the CHEC Board of Directors.

CHEC also brought Utility Collaborative Services (UCS) fully into the organization to provide much needed billing and Customer Information System expertise and support to our members.

Other accomplishments include increased advocacy with the industry’s governing bodies, and the addition of seven new areas of support: human resources, association-wide CDM support, governance, NorthStar Training, QAQC for Small Business Lighting and Business Refrigeration Incentive programs, Energy Manager (formerly Roving Energy Manager), and Health and Safety Audit Services

“There truly is no other association in the industry that provides the breadth and depth of services that exist within the CHEC Association,” said John Sherin, CHEC President.
