Conservation and Demand Management
In accordance with a directive from the Minister of Energy, Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) is a framework designed to reduce energy consumption and peak electricity demand across Ontario through a variety of conservation activities.
Residential and Business customers across Ontario can benefit from an array of programs offered throughout the province. There is a variety of energy-efficiency programs designed to assist residential customers as well as organizations from the smallest of retail stores to the largest industrial complexes. There are programs to help fund energy audits, to replace energy-wasting equipment or to pursue new construction that exceeds our existing codes and standards. Customers can also pursue incentives for controlling and reducing their electricity demand at specific times. The bottom line is that there are innovative programs that can help any electrical customer reduce their electricity costs, while helping Ontario defer the need to build new generation and reduce its environmental footprint.
